Is Your Liver Happy?

Spring is the time of cleansing. The house, the closet, the cupboard… and most importantly our bodies! 

According to Dr John Douillard we need more of

  • Protein and healthy fats during winter 
  • Fresh greens, raw foods and less fat during spring (think arugula, dandelion)
  • Carbs during summer (think fruits & berries)

Emotional Spring Cleanse for Liver
Liver is one of the largest organs in a human body that helps removal of toxins from body. Liver also enables the digestive process to take place so nutrients and oxygen can get into our cells. 

There are several signs that your liver needs some love!

These are some of the physical signs that liver may need a gentle cleanse:

  1. Difficulty digesting fatty foods
  2. Heartburn or acid reflux
  3. Difficulty losing weight even after eating less
  4. Abdominal bloating
  5. Fat around the upper abdomen
  6. Tendency for body to overheat resulting in excessive perspiration
  7. Fatigue
  8. Mood swings

But how about our emotions when liver is out of balance? 

  • Feeling angry and/or resentful
  • Feeling frustrated or indecisive 
  • Feeling over sensitive and/or depressed…. 

Since we just started spring in northern hemisphere, we need to take care of our liver with not only eating more greens, raw salads and lighter proteins from seeds like pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds and flax seeds, but also eating less fats and less grains.
